April 2007 Entries

The A List Apart Web Design Survey that is. Not that I would call myself a "web designer" but I do create, design (a little, mostly I ask my daughter for help), and code various web sites.

You should take it too!

When I was a kid, I don't ever remember snow on the ground for Easter. It was always warm. Now it seems that it's always cold and nasty. Even when the kids were little we always had to cover up their new Easter dresses with a big heavy coat when they were hunting Easter eggs.

This is what we see out of our front door this morning. Snow. Snow and gray skies. And it's cold! The wind chill, yes, a wind chill in April, is 12 degrees. The high today is 31 degrees. Below freezing. We're starting the second week of April and it's not going to get above freezing. Sigh.

This is the forecast for today in Phoenix...

Tell me again why I live here? I'll take the heat over the cold any day. I must be getting old. :)

I can't even draw a straight line with MS Paint.

Shaw/Blades - Influence

I bought this album the other night and I am really enjoying it. Some really great songs from my younger years that are still close enough to the original versions but also have a contemporary sound to them. I am a big fan of acoustic guitars with dirty sounding electric during the solos which some of the songs have.

Tommy Shaw is definitely one of my favorite guitarists.

I just heard of Twitter the other day over at Girl and Geek and think it is a very cool idea. I really like the idea of TwitterVision and think that it's probably the coolest thing that I've seen on the web lately. It's pretty addicting to watch although I wish there was some way to control how long the "tweets" are displayed since some are kinda long and its hard to read the whole message before they disappear.

This morning I went to TwitterVision for my daily fix and was presented with this monstrosity...

At first I was a little worried because even though I clicked on the Starbucks image it wasn't going away. Now though, I'm finding that all you have to do is click on it and it will fade into cyberspace oblivion. Musta been a bug.

Anyway, Twitter and TwitterVision are pretty cool. You should check it out.
