Turkey Breasts

All I can say is that I hurt myself yesterday but have recovered nicely today. Please pass the leftovers!

First Snow of 2004We had our first snow here yesterday. Not too bad, just a "dusting" but man is it cold today! Last weekend it was sunny and in the mid 50's.

Gayla bought one of those spiral lighted Christmas trees for the front yard and we put it out last weekend. I said I was going to wait until this weekend to put the rest of the Christmas lights up because I have the 4-day weekend. Gayla told me not to wait because ya never know what kind of weather we'll have. Well, she was right and I should've listened to her. Tomorrow we're supposed to have rain and snow, Saturday all rain, and snow showers and cold on Sunday! Figures.

Let the holidays begin!!

Well, tonight I was all excited because I downloaded and installed Visual C# Express and Visual Web Developer Express to my home computer. I don't have VisualStudio so I always had to use my work computer whenever I wanted to do some development at home. Unfortunately once I installed them, all my other .Net applications didn't work right! It was really kinda weird because some “parts” of the applications worked and others didn't. For example, when I tried to load my blog in the browser it would always go to the aggregation page. Or when I tried my nGallery application, the home page would load correctly but if I clicked on an album, I would get an exception. I'm guessing it's the .Net Framework (version 2.0 Beta) that gets installed along with the development tools. There must be some incompatibility. I uninstalled everything and now all is back to normal. Damn. I'm really disappointed because I really wanted to try the tools out. Anyone else experience anything like this? Are these tools going to still be free when they're released?

I really wish that the next time Mike Holmgren decides to bench someone, that he would at least give me a phone call so I can bench him too! This probably cost me the game this week! Thanks Coach! Can I um, see you in my office?

What's going on here? The Lions have two posessions and two touchdowns. Somebody pinch me! No wait! Don't pinch me, there's still a whole game left!  ;)

Update: It's official. I am dreaming. The Lions just got a safety! They're leading 19 to 7. What's up with the Vikings? Their fans are booing like crazy.

Update 2: Yep, I was dreaming. Minnesota 22, Detroit 19. Sigh.

So, as you can see, I did decide to go with the .Text blogging engine and I'm really quite happy with it! One thing that I really like is that there is no “rebuilding” my site every time I change something! Another is that now I can list all the comments and easily delete the spams and not have to rebuild! Let me know what you think!

Please be patient with me as I setup my new blog.

Thanks!

Keith

What can I say, it's been a rough month. I've had things that I wanted to write about but I just haven't felt like writing. I've been sick with a bad cold for the last three weeks and work has been really busy too, so by the time I get home, I just feel like unwinding. Anyway, here are some things that are going on...

Tomorrow is the BIG GAME! Michigan @ Ohio State!!! Should be a dandy and I think it will be shown nationally so make sure you root for the right team! Go Blue!

We got the DVR installed last Saturday and I gotta say, that thing is too cool! Pausing and rewinding live TV is something else! You can even rewind and show it in slow motion! Gayla has really taken a liking to it too!

I've been thinking about changing blogging engines from Moveable Type to .Text. I downloaded .Text today and got it up and running on my work computer. There are some differences but one thing that I do like about .Text is that it uses SQL Server. The database I'm using for Moveable Type is their home grown database and I'm not too sure if I like it or not. One drawback is that I'll probably lose all my entries in this blog if I change because I don't know if you can export them from the Moveable Type database. I'll have to play around with some styles and learn a lot more about .Text before I make my decision.

Big K's Krunchers (my fantasy football team) had an outstanding win last week that broke a three game losing streak!!! The Krunchers scored a whopping 161.12 points for an almost 70 point victory!!! Nice job boys. The win lifted us to 3rd place in the league, only 1 game back. Looks like I'm past all the byes and my players with injuries are all back but one. Go Krunchers!!!

Speaking of football, the Lions need to start playing some football! They looked horrible last week against the Jaguars and Joey Harrington probably played his worst game since becoming a Lion. I just don't know about this guy, I'm not a "Joey Slappy" but I would like to see him play well. The sports media around these parts have started the quarterback controversy again. Mike McMahon was supposed to take more snaps in practice this week and could actually get in the game this week against the Vikings. I don't know, I dont think he's the answer either. The question in my mind is, what's the alternative? There aren't many good quarterbacks available out there and do we really want to start all over with a draft pick? Sigh, same old Lions.

Well, that's enough for now, hopefully I'll get off my butt and do some more posting.
